This course encompasses five talks given by our experts during the Fifth International Symposium on Otosclerosis and Stapes Surgery in Brussels in April 2023.
To begin with, Ellen Andries, PhD delves into the Outcomes of Cochlear Implantation in Otosclerosis illustrating her presentation with a case study from the Antwerp University Hospital. Then Mohammad Al Saadi, PhD presents his study titled “Preoperative estimation of stapes heights with Otoplan”, which was conducted at the University Hospital of Brussels. Prof. Dr. Mohan Kameswaran talks about Far Advanced Otosclerosis and developing a rational approach to its management, looking into the progressive nature of the disease. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Piotr Skarzynski elaborates on the topic of Cochlear Implantation in patients with far advanced otosclerosis as well as the aspects of facial nerve stimulation. Prof. Dr. Artur Lorens, PhD concludes the course by giving a comprehensive presentation on the experience of his team in the field of fitting and its considerations based on a multi-centre study.
